Customer support: secure contact form
Who may use 86Hours
86Hours is designed for people buying primarily for their trade, business, craft or profession. You must be at least 18 and authorised to act for the business named on the account. If mandatory consumer rights apply to you, nothing in these terms limits those rights.
What 86Hours provides
86Hours is administrative software for recording overdue-invoice cases, organising communications and evidence, producing user-reviewed document templates and exporting PDF case packs. The Recovery Pack covers one saved case. Pro provides the individual-business features shown on the pricing page. Bookkeeper provides the client-workspace features shown there. The package, billing period, price and any applicable tax are displayed before payment.
What it does not provide
86Hours is not a law firm, debt-collection agency, court representative, escrow service or substitute for legal, tax or financial advice. It does not decide whether a debt is valid, file proceedings, guarantee recovery, contact a court for you or hold debtor funds. Escalation guidance is general information only and must be checked against the current official procedure for the relevant country.
Your account and responsibilities
You must provide accurate account and billing information, use a strong unique password, keep your private recovery code secure, protect access to your account and tell us promptly about suspected misuse. You may not share one person's login; Bookkeeper users should give each team member their own authorised account. You must check the accuracy and lawfulness of every case, calculation, recipient, demand and attachment; keep original documents; and approve every external communication. You are responsible for having a lawful basis to process debtor and contact data and for choosing the correct official route or adviser if you escalate a claim.
Email and generated documents
Connected-email messages are sent only after the signed-in user approves the recipient, subject and body. Generated letters and PDF evidence packs are administrative drafts and records. They must be reviewed before use and do not prove that the underlying claim is valid.
Payment and renewal
Payments are processed by Stripe. The Recovery Pack is a one-off purchase. Pro and Bookkeeper are monthly subscriptions that renew automatically at the displayed monthly price until cancelled. By placing an order, you request immediate access to the selected software package. Failed or reversed payments may pause paid features until payment is resolved.
Cancellation and refunds
You can cancel a Pro or Bookkeeper subscription from the billing section of your account. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid billing period, and access continues until then. We do not charge a cancellation fee. Except where law requires otherwise, completed billing periods and a Recovery Pack that has been activated or used are not automatically refundable. Use the secure contact form promptly about a duplicate charge, technical non-supply or billing error. Any mandatory cooling-off, refund or statutory rights remain unaffected.
Acceptable use
You must not use 86Hours to pursue a debt you know is false, disputed without proper disclosure, unlawful or abusive; impersonate another person; upload malicious or infringing material; attempt unauthorised access; or use the service to harass a recipient. We may restrict or suspend access where reasonably necessary to protect users, the service or others, investigate misuse or comply with law. Where practical, we will explain the reason and allow a reasonable opportunity to correct the issue.
Your content and our software
You retain ownership of case content you upload. You give 86Hours permission to host, process and reproduce that content only as needed to provide, secure and support the service. 86Hours and its licensors retain all rights in the software, design and templates. You may use generated documents and exported evidence packs for your own legitimate business cases.
Availability, changes and ending the service
We use reasonable care and skill to provide the service, but maintenance, security work and events outside reasonable control can interrupt access. We may improve or change features while keeping the core paid service materially consistent. If we permanently discontinue a paid service, we will give reasonable notice where practicable and provide any refund required by law.
Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any liability that cannot lawfully be limited. Subject to that, 86Hours is not responsible for a debtor's actions, whether a claim succeeds, decisions made from general guidance, or losses caused by inaccurate information supplied by a user. To the fullest extent permitted by law, total liability arising from the service is limited to the fees paid for the affected service during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms for legal, security or service changes. Material changes affecting a paid subscription will be notified in the service or by email before they take effect where reasonably practicable. Continuing to use the service after the effective date means the updated terms apply, but changes do not remove rights that have already accrued.
Law and contact
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory rights that give you access to another court. Submit questions, complaints and refund requests through the secure contact form.
